Kevin Durant out 6-8 weeks with fractured foot

The Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant is out indefinitely,the reigning MVP has been diagnosed with a Jones fracture in his right foot.

The team announced Durant's injury in a press release, noting that this type of injury usually requires surgery and 6 to 8 weeks of recovery.

"We are in the process of collaboratively evaluating the most appropriate next steps with Kevin, his representatives, and Thunder medical personnel," general manager Sam Presti said in a statement. "Until a course of action is determined, we are unable to provide a timeline specific to Kevin's case."

Greg Oden arrested for punching ex-girlfriend in the face

According to a report from FOX59 Indianapolis Grego Oden was arrested for punching his ex-girlfriend in the face early Thursday morning .

According to report When police arrived they spoke with a female victim who was laying on a sofa with blood on her face. Police also spoke with a witness identified as the victim’s friend. She said, “he punched her in the face, my hand hurts and I just want to go home.”

Medical personnel arrived but the victim refused treatment, the report said. She told police that she fell but was unable to provide further details and was uncooperative, police said.

Oden was "calm, apologetic and cooperative" when officers spoke with him, police said.

"I was wrong, and I know what has to happen," Oden told police, according to the report.

Greg Oden still a free agent has had recent interest from the LA Clippers . This arrest seems to be another setback in Oden's attempt to resurrect his career.

Report: Paul George likely to miss 2014-2015 season after freak leg injury

ESPN is reporting that, Paul George, who suffered a devastating leg injury during the Team USA intra-squad scrimmage Friday night, underwent successful surgery and will likely miss the entire 2014-15 season.

Sources close to the situation told ESPN that while there was no additional damage besides the fractures, doctors believe George likely will miss all of next season, though no official prognosis has been given.

George went up for a routine defensively play and landed awkwardly on the stanchion behind the basket during Team USA scrimmage played Friday night . There are photos that show that the stanchion's at the Thomas and Mack center ,where the game was played , are about 2 feett closer to the basket than NBA regulation (seen below)

In tonight's Team USA scrimmage Paul George suffered a gruesome lower leg injury defending a routine fastbreak. The injury seems to be significant .

Shortly after Team USA Coach Mike Krzyzewski called to end the game out of respect for George .

The sale which appeared to be going through until Sterling vowed this week to fight against it .

Shelly Sterling , Donald Sterling's wife was able to sell the team without his consent after medical examination concluded Sterling had Alzheimer's disease and was declared mentally incapacitated to make any financial decisions regarding the LA Clippers

However Sterling's Lawyer told Matt Lauer that eventhough Sterling was diagnosed with Alzheimer's he is still of sound mind .

Paul George diagnosed with Concussion , must get clearance to play in game 3

The Pacers announced Wednesday that Paul George suffered a concussion after taking a knee to the back of the head from Heat guard Dwyane Wade Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals .

George must now enter the NBA’s concussion protocol, which requires a player be symptom-free fpr 24 hours and cleared by an independent doctor before he can return .

George took to the knee to head as seen above with about 4 minutes left in the 4th Quarter he then returned to the game . Later he told reporters that he had blacked out and had blurry vision

George then underwent further testing today as was told by a Neurologist that he had indeed suffered a concussion based on his descriptions post game of losing consciousness .

The Pacers have released a statement that they followed NBA protocol before allowing George to reenter the game but that George had denied any dizziness or blurred vision but was aware of his surroundings .

Josh Gordon could face season long suspension for testing positive for Marijuana

ESPN Outside the Lines is reporting Friday evening that Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon could face a season-long suspension after a second failed drug test months ago, this time for marijuana,.

Two sources told "Outside the Lines" on Friday that Gordon's latest violation is the result of marijuana being found during a drug test. One source said Gordon received a letter in early winter from a league physician stating he had failed a test. A second letter, informing Gordon that he faced a 16-game suspension but had the right to appeal, was sent in late April.

Gordon also had problems with testing positive for marijuana in college . He was dismissed by Baylor after being suspended twice for marijuana use in 2010.

The 23-year-old Gordon was expected to be the top target for the Cleveland Browns after leading the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards and became the first player with consecutive 200-yard receiving games.

Kevin Durant has been named MVP of 2013-2014 season . Durant scored 1,232 points in the MVP voting, including 119 first-place votes of a panel of 124 sportswriters and broadcasters season.

Durant averaged a career high 32 points this season which included a record breaking streak of scoring 25 points in 41 games .

Mike Woodson has been fired as ex[ected NY Knicks according to ESPN sources . The firing is a result of a Knicks a dissapointing Knicks season in which they failed to make the playoffs in a weakened Eastern Conference .

This marks the first major move under Tthe Phil Jackson regime . It's expected that Steve Kerr will be offered the job and that he will likely accept .

Woodson will still be paid 3.5 million owed to him this season .

TNT Analyst and former NBA executive Steve Kerr expects to be offered Knicks Job according to new report in the New York Post by George Willis

According to a source close to the situation, Kerr "absolutely expects" to be offered the job. "And if he’s offered the job he’s definitely going to do it," the source told The Post.

The Post has learned Kerr has had conversations with his bosses at Turner Sports about adjusting his schedule as an analyst during the upcoming playoffs should he be named the Knicks head coach.

The report states that Kerr's previous relationship with Phil Jackson combined with his knowledge of the triangle offense is what makes him the leading candidate for the Knicks coaching job.

Steve Kerr has no experience as a Head Coach but has expressed interest in coaching the past few years .

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick but is reportedly being investigated for a possible sexual assault but has not been charged by TMZ.

According to the report, two other NFL players are also being investigates San Francisco WR Quinton Patton and Seahawks WR Ricardo Lockette.

Will Brinson of CBS Sports obtained a police report where The alleged victim describes going to Lockette's apartment having a few mixed drinks , taking a hit from a bong , then going to a room with Kaepernick where he undresses her and leaves the room , she says after Kapernick left the room Lockette and Patton tried to peek in the room and she told them to go away and asked "where's colin" , the victim states that's the last thing she remembers before waking up at the hospital

The victim mentioned that she and Kaepernick had sexual relations in the past .

Police in Miami have yet to comment as the case is still under investigation .

Lebron James was asked whether Kevin Durant was the frontrunner for MVP last night by the media after the Heat played the Memphis Grizzlies.

"I would say he's the most consistent basketball player as far as the MVP this year, man," James said. "He's put up some great numbers."

"I think KD has had one heck of a season," "And, you know, if he's rewarded with the MVP, it would be great. It would be awesome for him, for his family. He's played MVP-type basketball. Lebron James blames sleeved jerseys for poor shooting night vs Spurs

Lebron James had a rough shooting night last night vs The San Antonio Spurs . James went 6-16 from the field and o-3 from the 3 point line 111-87 loss .Lebron told reporters after the game that it had something to do with the NBA's new sleeved Jerseys

“I’m not making excuses, but I’m not a big fan of the jerseys,” James told reporters. “Not a big fan of them. I have to figure something out the next time I have to wear the short-sleeved jerseys.”

“Every time I shoot it pulled,” James continued. “It feels like it’s just pulling every time I shoot, right underneath my arm. I already don’t have much room for error on my jumpshot anyway, so it’s definitely not a good thing.”
